Beyond any doubt the barbera is the grape that reigns over the hills of Monferrato and for this reason it is the backbone of our wine production. Our Barbera del Monferrato, slightly sparkling as traditionally made in our lands, comes from vineyards cordon trained and spur pruned in the Grana, Montemagno and Castagnole Monferrato area.
After a fermentation with selected yeasts, a one week –long maceration and a three-four months of evolution in large oak barrels, it makes a second fermentation in a steel tank which gives it a typical slight sparkling touch. Blackberry, raspberry, strawberry are its typical scents, joined to rose and violet. Barbera del Monferrato matches well with meat dishes and with the typical Piedmontese "bagna cauda".
